5 Events to Not Miss This Summer

With so many great events taking place all over the home counties this summer, we’ve rounded up five of the best music festivals to attend this year in Hertfordshire.

Standon Calling -Thursday 20th to Monday 24th July 2023

Standon Calling has been running for 17 years and is back again this July in Hertfordshire. Headliners for 2023 include Years & Years, Bloc Party and The Human League. It’s a weekend festival full of great music to share with friends and family. Camp all weekend or come for the day and enjoy the vibes.

Foodies St Albans – 2nd to the 4th June 2023

The Foodies Festival tours the nation through spring and summer, and it is coming to St Albans this year in June. With headliners Scouting for Girls and Natalie Imbruglia, a Chef’s Theatre where you can watch top class chef’s cook their summer recipes, learn how to make a show-stopping cake at the Cake and Bake theatre and even the kids can join in at the Kid’s Cookery Theatre. There’s something for the whole family to enjoy, ith street food stalls and pop-up bars spend the afternoon with friends and family.

Folk by the Oak – Sunday 16th July 2023

Folk by the Oak is a lovely afternoon of good music and family entrainment. It takes place in Hatfield park and this year has headliners The Waterboys, with performance by Nick Mulvey and Sona Jobarteh amongst many other. The stages complement the carters and craftspeople that will also be in attendance, with creative workshops for the younger people.

Rock at the Castle – Sunday 6th August 2023

This free annual music festival, that takes place in the grounds of Hertford Castle, is a showcase for local talent. From bands of all genre on the main stage, to acoustic and pop influences on the smaller on the other two stages, there is sure to be something to please everyone. With food and drink stalls, kids activities and so much more, it’s a great afternoon out for the whole family.

TOTFest – Saturday 8th July 2023

This fun festival designed for younger kids is a must attend if you have children. With family favourites like The Hartbeeps Club, Little City and Phonics with Robot Reg, as well as The Super Pirates, a fairground, Baby rave and live music stage this fun filled afternoon is exactly what you’ll need to wear those little ones out.
