Guide to Wedding Staging

Sophie

Having a stage at your event is not essential but it can really add to the event by helping to highlight to your guests the important things you’ve worked hard to include.

Whether it be the best tribute band you’ve heard that you hired, or the vows you wrote that you want to be the star of the show. Having a stage at your event can really bring the focus onto what’s important. And it doesn’t have to be reserved just for the evening entertainment.

We’ve put together some ideas of how and where you can use staging to make sure your wedding is unforgettable.

Ceremony platform

You may be at the front of the aisle but can everyone see you? Can everyone see the beautiful dress you chose, the celebrant and the groom? Can everyone hear the vows you meticulously wrote and poured your heart into. Add a stage at the front of the ceremony can really bring the focus onto the couple and ensure they are in the spotlight. The guests will all be able to see the magical moment you say “I do”, the most important part of the day.

Speeches

If your venue doesn’t have a stage and you aren’t having alive band, you may want to hire a stage in for the speeches. One of the most looked forward to moments of the wedding, where the father gushes about his daughter, the best men tease the groom and the groom thanks the entire congregation. Make sure they are seen, heard and applauded on a platform just for them.

Top table

Another chance to highlight the couple and their special guests by having the top table on a platform. Whether it’s big enough for a loveseat for the married couple or for the longer, more traditional top table, it’s a great opportunity to celebrate the couple again and really put the spotlight on them and their union.

Band performance

Having a stage for your live entertainment can really elevate the performance. Bands tend to play better and sound better when they are on a platform performing for the audience. It also helps to reduce hazards with equipment and merry guests.
