How to Make the Most of Your Stage Hire

Top tips for making the most of your stage hire

The last thing you want after spending a large portion of your budget on staging, is to not use it to its full potential.

Here are some tips on how to make the most of your stage hire and ensure the crowd are fully entertained for the duration of your event.

Book the right stage for your event

This seems obvious but it’s always helpful to have some idea of what you plan on having as entertainment before you book the stage. This ensures that the provider can bring the right equipment for what you need.

If you’re focusing more on dance sets or speeches, the requirements will be different than if you are bringing a full rock band. If you plan on having one or two people on stage at one time, you’ll need a different set up than if you were having a choir. Our blog post How to Pick the Right Stage for your Event can help you narrow down which one would work best for you.

Check our fleet of stages to give you an idea of what you may need.

Plan your programme to fill the duration of the event

You’ve booked the stage, which suits your vision, now it’s time to finalise the programme. How many times have you been to an event with a huge stage that has been empty for more than half of the event duration?

Optimise your stage use by filling your programme. If you are unsure on act changeover times, speak to our experience sound engineers who can advise. You can also hire in backline if you’ve got a number of bands playing as this speeds up the set up time between acts.

You can also vary the acts, to have acoustic performers, who take less time to set up, between the main acts. This keeps the entertainment flowing whilst also having time to set up the bigger acts. We've got some Tips on Sourcing Performers on our blog to help you find the right people for you.

Add branding

Using your stage as a marketing tool, either for your company or your sponsors, is a great additional opportunity to make the most of it. You can fully brand our stages with banners and flags which not only makes the staging look great and eye-catching but will get yours or your sponsors name in front of your audience.

Add the wow factor

If you’re looking for something extra that will ensure your event sticks in your audience’s mind, you can add lighting and Special FX’s which will be sure to take your stage programme up to the next level.

Let your stage be the focus of your event by making sure you’ve ticked off these steps. Don’t let your well spent money go unused and let it make your event stand out in your audience’s mind.
