Tips for Planning a Coronation Celebration Event

Sophie

The date has been set, Saturday 6th May 2023, for the Coronation of His Majesty the King.

It’s a time for celebration and pageantry, showing off our culture and values to the world so

why not join in the celebration and organise your own Coronation event.

It’s a great opportunity to celebrate everything British by theming your event around the coronation. Union Jack bunting, pimms and scones, traditional fete games and brass bands are a great place to start.

Here are some top tips to make sure your event is successful and remembered far beyond June 2023.

Start Planning Early

There will be a lot of Coronation events happening that weekend so planning early and securing your contractors will be crucial. You don’t want to be left out or without a stage or musicians for your event.

Don’t Forget the Theme

It’s easy to get side tracked when planning an event but it’s important to remember what the event is for. There aren’t a lot of opportunities to go big with being British, so lean into the theme and don’t forget it whilst you plan.

Plan your Music Accordingly

Music brings atmosphere and can really make an event, so don’t leave it until the last minute to secure a band. Check out our blog post on how to make the most of your stage for more ideas.

Don’t Forget the Bunting

Nothing screams British celebrations like Union Jack Bunting, so order a lot of it!
