Five Reasons to Hire a Stage for your Outdoor Event

Sophie

Why hire a stage for your outdoor event?

Whether you are organising a festival, a community event or an outdoor concert, the likelihood is that you will be considering a stage. It’s a considerate investment and one of the biggest costs for your event but here are five reasons why it’s a worthwhile investment and should be top of your budget sheet going into any event planning project.

If you’re looking for the benefits of hiring a stage for your indoor event you will find that here

Transforms a place into a performance area.

With any event that has live performances planned, you might need a designated area for the performances to take place, unless you plan on having the entertainment roam throughout the event. If you have a PA system set up with speakers and even lighting, then you will need a designated area for it all. A stage can transform that area from a blank canvas into a performance area. It gives the performers a home for the event and somewhere for the audience to enjoy the performances.

It gives a better viewing experience for the audience and allows you to reach more people with your entertainment.

Without a stage you will only be able to reach a small number of people with your entertainment, which is an awful waste if you have spent a good chunk of your budget on a great band. With a stage, you can reach much further and most of your audience will be able to enjoy the entertainment. It also provides a better viewing experience for the audience who will be able to see the stage from different angles without being obstructed.

It gives the event a central and focal point which attracts people into a specific area.

Having a stage gives your event a central and focal point for your audience and can help with the layout of the event. This is a great benefit if you are expecting larger crowds or if your event is taking place in a small space. It also helps with crowd control and understanding their movements as it concentrates many of the attendees in one place. More than that though, a stage is synonymous with entertainment, it’s a clear way to show your audience where the entertainment will be and where to go for the main part of the event.

It gives the event a professional look and put together feel.

As the focal point of your event, the stage will appear in most of your photos and marketing, it will likely be the most memorable element of your event, if done properly.

It can elevate the event to a higher standard and give it a professional feel and the audience will remember the feel of the event more than anything else. To be sure that they leave remembering it all for the right reason having a centrepiece stage that is attractive to the eye and draws the attention of the crowd is necessary on top of it performing in all the practical ways it should to.

Health and safety of your performers and crowds

As event organisers we know that the most important thing about an event is that everyone is safe, and nothing compromises the health and wellbeing of the performers, audience and staff. Having a stage is a great way to separate areas, using it as a divider between the main arena and the restricted backstage areas. It helps protector the performers from the crowds by giving them their own dedicated space elevated from the crowds and separated by security (if needed) and additional space. It also protects the audience from the performer’s equipment (cables, speakers, electricity etc) and any dangers associated with the performance itself (fire breathing or wild dancing). It gives the performers the space to work professionally and the audience space to enjoy it all.
