Halloween Event Ideas

Sophie

The nights are getting longer (just) and the days are getting shorter, and we’re already thinking ahead to Halloween.

This celebration is becoming more and more popular in the UK as events are popping up all over the place.

If you have spooky tendencies and are looking to put on a fun event, then we’ve come up with some ideas to help you. Whether you are a venue looking to cash in, a event’s company or a town wanted to put on a community event, we’ve got plenty of ideas.

Halloween Ball

Everyone loves a party, so why not host your own Halloween event. Make it fancy dress, or theme it, vampires & werewolves, monsters or zombies. There are endless possibilities to theme the food, the music, the décor, even the entertainment.

Mini Monster Ball

In the same vein as the one above, except make it for kids, hire a magician, do some crafts or pumpkin carving competitions.

Haunted Forest Event

If you have a bit more space, and some outdoor woodlands, you could host a haunted forest event. Get some live actors to scare people along a trail or in a maze, have a DJ tent and a bar. Why not add a stage with some live bands and a funfair. The adults and the kids will all love it.

Halloween Steampunk Market

This would make a great community event, theme your monthly markets to make is spookier and kookier by having some steampunk elements. Although not strictly Halloween, Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction inspired by the 19th century steam-powered machinery and evokes a fantasy world. It’s a cool way to join in with the season without it being strictly Halloween-y.

Drive in Scary Movie

Everyone loves a scary movie, so what would be better than hosting a scary movie drive in. Better than an open air in case the weather is off but still bringing that Halloween feel.

Scarecrow Festival

Again, not strictly Halloween but very in season. Get local businesses or residents to put scarecrows on display and organise a trail. Or host it at a local farm and have warm apple cider, apple bobbing and pumpkin carving as well. Maybe a stage with some acoustic music and some kids activities.

Zombie Run & Party

Organise a fun run where everyone has to dress up as Zombies. Finish off with a party in the park for the participants.

Day of the Dead Festival

Traditionally a Mexican holiday, it’s becoming increasingly popular due to its very recognisable face paint associated with it. Why not host a celebration themed around this, with a parade and music.
